Garage sale find of the day

Since the weather is so beautiful, I took the boys out on a walk around the neighborhood this morning. There was a garage sale going on and I bought this basketball hoop (ball included) for Brooks (and Hudson). It was a steal at $3. I probably looked funny walking around the neighborhood with the basketball hoop laid across the top of the stroller.

Baby biscotti

I made Hudson some zucchini "baby biscotti". I made a loaf of zucchini bread, with only egg yolks and not much brown sugar. I then sliced it and baked the slices on a cookie sheet for another 30 minutes. He loves to knaw on it. Brooks also likes to eat it and calls it cookies.

Free ride

We found this slide in a neighbor's garbage a few weeks ago. It had a bolt missing, but Ryan fixed it up. Brooks loves playing on it, and Hudson tries. Gotta love free stuff!

Oh, Ryan keeps checking for your comments. ;) Don't be shy!

Let me in!

I was trying to cook dinner the other night and of course Hudson wanted to be right there with me. Ryan blocked off the kitchen so he couldn't get in, but he sure tried! Sometimes I wish our kitchen had a door.

Getting muddy

Ryan competed in his first mountain bike race yesterday. He finished with a faster time than he was hoping, so he was very happy. He had a great time and sounds like he wants to do it again next year!

Fun with crayons

Brooks likes to color with crayons. We went to Target this morning so I picked up a notebook (only 10 cents!) for him to color in. It's a little easier than loose paper because it doesn't slide around.

Auntie Jess called while he was working on a "masterpiece" and he continued to color while he was on the phone!

And yes, Brooks did hang up on her. Guess he wanted to get back to coloring!

Hi!

Welcome to my first post! My hopes are to keep everyone updated on what is going on with our family.

I'm going to start off with some pictures from this morning...

Here's proof of Hurricane Hudson, destroying Brooks's Lego compound. Brooks is not kidding when you ask him what happened to his Lego building and he responds, "baby".

Brooks decided to sleep in this morning, I guess Maggie has been wearing him out in the afternoons.

Ryan and I watched a good movie last night: "Miss Potter". It's about Beatrix Potter and stars Renee Zellweger and Ewan McGregor. It made me want to read all her books to the kids. This morning I read "The Tale of Tom Kitten" to the boys, I like how she always uses the word naughty. It makes me laugh.
