State Champ!

Yesterday was the last race of the season. It was a fun course, and everyone had a great time. Fortunately there was a lack of mud!

Getting tired
Ryan had a fantastic race. He took the lead halfway through the first lap, and held it for the rest of the race. By time he crossed the finish line he had a 52 second gap! I am so proud of him. He has worked extremely hard this season, and the results have proven that.

Taking the lead

Not an exciting finish, he was so far ahead of everyone!

1st place and Indiana State Champion!

Podium #10

Ryan hit his goal for 10 podium finishes this year.  He finished 1st yesterday!  It was a muddy day, but everyone had fun. Only one race left for the season!

The Aftermath

Brooks and Hudson were Ryan's pit crew. Ryan had two bikes for the race, and alternated bikes every lap. They were in charge of cleaning off the mud and grass.

Brooks got a little carried away with the power washer.

Happy to finish 1st!

Another Podium

Ryan is up to 9 podium finishes for the year, with 2 races left. He placed 3rd on Saturday, beaten out by 2 Marian University riders.  The boys are still having fun racing, and are the youngest ones out there.  The cold weather has scared the others away.  I'm very proud of all of them!

Halloweekend

It was a cold, wet (a little snow!) Halloween, but the boys still made a quick trip around the neighborhood.  We only had 15 trick or treaters come to our door.

We were up early the next morning for Cyclocross at Traders Point.  It started out in the 20s, but the sun was out and it ended up being a pretty nice day.

The boys wore their costumes for the race.  The announcer was making a big deal about Hudson, and calling him Skeleton Man.

Game face!

Hudson did hand ups with the leftover Halloween candy.  He had a few takers, including Ryan after he finished his race.

Ryan once again took 2nd place.

BloomingCross

It was a beautiful fall day for our annual trek to Bloomington.  Brooks finished 10th and Hudson 11th out of a field of 23 Juniors.  Brooks was happy to have finished ahead of Hudson, the past two races Hudson has finished ahead.  Ryan continued his successful year and took 2nd place.  I didn't race (of course), but I hit a PR on my deadlift the other day at 180 lbs.
